Mexico City will host the 2026 World AeroPress Championship (WAC) on Sunday, December 6. The event, held for the first time in Mexico, will take place at the Frontón Bucareli venue in the city's central district and will feature a full day of coffee-related activities alongside the main competition.
The WAC is the culmination of a worldwide series of national and regional brewing competitions. According to event organizers, the 2025 season involved nearly 8,000 competitors across more than 230 events in 68 countries. The competition format requires national champions to brew a coffee using an AeroPress device in five minutes, with a panel of judges advancing one winner from each round through blind tasting.
Beyond the main stage, the event will include a Roasters Village showcasing over 30 coffees from 12 local and international roasters. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste coffees and interact with the roasters. The festival will also feature hands-on demonstrations from equipment manufacturers like Comandante and a dedicated tea counter, providing a broad experience for coffee professionals.
