The Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE) and the Asociación Nacional del Café (Anacafé) have announced the 27 winning lots from the 2026 Guatemala Cup of Excellence competition. These coffees, selected by an international jury, will now proceed to a global online auction where they will be available to professional buyers.
This year's event drew a record 194 samples from producers across the country, representing the highest number of entrants in the past nine years and a 4.3% increase over the 2025 competition. Following an initial screening, 134 of these coffees advanced to the national judging week. Out of the 27 finalists, five coffees scored above 90 points, earning them the competition's Presidential Award distinction.
The top-scoring coffee was a natural-processed Geisha from El Injerto farm in Huehuetenango, which achieved a score of 91.86. The Huehuetenango region was a dominant force in the results, producing the majority of the winning lots. Geisha and Pacamara varieties featured prominently among the highest-ranked coffees, which were processed using washed, natural, and honey methods, showcasing a diversity of production styles at the country's highest quality level.
